“Shanti” Restaurant. Shanti in Sanskrit means peace. The restaurant is located by the riverside and overlooks the lush green paddy fields. At the entrance of the restaurant you will be greeted by the statues of lions. [The lions are believed to be mythological characters who are the protectors and guardians and you will find that in this typical Balinese architecture specifically in the temples.] The decor is a combination of traditional and antiques, its open design, intended to allow you to be closer to nature.

The restaurant is situated at a height, you can witness the ecological cycle of a paddy field which unfolds daily and eternally fascinating. If you are early enough, you may be able to catch the local villagers in action (with drums and [hooting]) to scare the birds away from their paddy fields. Couple of flights down the restaurant leads you to a Hindu temple right next to the river. The whiff of incense offered in prayer to the Gods fills the morning air bringing perfect peace and tranquility to your mind. When you dine in this restaurant, you not only nourish your body but your mind.

This restaurant also has a pool which is perfect for an outdoor poolside party or functions. Shanti serves Indonesian and international cuisines, with a good selection of wine and cocktail drinks.

Swimming Pool. A 12.5 m swimming pool is located at the centre of the resort with lined with green natural slate. The pool over looks the river, playful bamboo trees, surrounded by sun loungers and a natural Balinese garden. You can choose to dip in the cool waters of the pool or just lie on the sun loungers and soak up the sun.

“Wayang” – The Gallery. Opposite ‘Ramayana’ Lobby, there is a small art gallery named ‘Wayang’ which means puppet in Sanskrit. ‘Wayang’ displays a collection of early Indonesian antiques with an objective of introducing to our customers certain aspects of Indonesian culture. The emphasis is on wooden antiques mainly from the island of Java. At the entrance you will be greeted by a beautiful multicolored wooden statue of a graceful Balinese dancer. This statue has managed to capture the exquisite posture and expression of a girl performing Balinese dance.

Just under the ceiling above the entrance of ‘Wayang’ there is the plough used for bull racing. This is from the island of Madura which is near the central Java and famous for bull racing. Inside the gallery you will see a majestic wooden [long chair] which once belonged to a king in East Java.

This furniture is adorned with intrinsic carvings highlighted by the use of multiple colors mostly gold, giving it a royal appearance.  To the right of the chair, you will see a cupboard which is made in typically Maduranese style. This piece is also adorned with beautiful colorful intrinsic carvings which gives it a cheerful and fresh look. This cupboard is meant for storage of personal items like the weapons or clothes in older days.

You will also find a wooden boat shaped low structure standing on four legs. This is called Dakon in Javanese language, has depressions on the top surface and was used as an indoor game in olden times. Sea shells or pebbles were used to play on the Dakon. The exterior of this Dakon has beautiful intrinsic multi colored intrinsic painting.

Library. The tranquil environment at the villa is perfect place for catching up on reading or watching your favorite movie which you may not have had the time to do for a while. To take care of this need of our Customers, we have provided a small library, which is located next to ‘Wayang’ from where you can borrow books and DVDs.

The riverside Villa Mattisse is hidden away in the heart of the traditional fishing village of Seseh, just footsteps away from the beach on Bali’s southwest coast. The villa can accommodate up to ten guests; there are four double bedrooms complete with en-suite bathrooms, and a fifth bedroom with a single bed. Two of the bedrooms are situated within self-contained guest houses in the garden, and there is also a large swimming pool that almost seems to overflow into the river. The style is unashamedly romantic, and the funky colonial architecture is enhanced by a thatched roof and a bold black, white and silver décor.

Villa Bunga Wangi is constructed in the traditional Balinese style consisting of separate pavilions located within 1500 sq.ms of landscaped gardens, designed by the award winning landscape architect, Made Wijaya. From the Balinese entrance gates to the villa grounds, one finds oneself descending the white palimanan stone steps through the landscaped gardens to the extraordinary ten metre high main living/dining pavilion which overlooks the natural green stone swimming pool nestled adjacent to the Pangi River.

The main living and dining pavilion, with its flagstone floor, is well suited for functions, while the adjacent flat lawn is perfect for Balinese dance performances. This sizeable, 10-metre high, open air pavilion is furnished with antique daybeds, an antique wooden coffee table, large cushions and a dining table for eight. Ceiling fans ensure the comfort of the guests, sturdy pillars support the shingle roof, and a bar to one side serves as a breakfast bar or a drinks bar. The pavilion is also graced with a number of antique artifacts including an ornamental painted wall panel that forms a striking centre-piece, flanked by a pair of Javanese statues resting in softly lit alcoves.

Each of the three individual air-conditioned bedroom pavilions is a short stroll through the villa grounds and each consists of a bedroom with king size bed, balcony overlooking the gardens and spacious ensuite bathroom and private courtyard with outdoor shower.

The master bedroom is located in the sleeping pavilion known as ‘Lily’: It also possesses a balcony-style deck. Complete with a comfortable daybed and a table, the deck overhangs the garden beside the pool and the temple. Similar to the other sleeping pavilions, the bedroom is graced with a double four poster bed and also has a satellite TV with VCD/CD player. The bathroom features a cream terrazzo tub beside glass windows within walled courtyard with an open air shower.

The air-conditioned study room and guest bedroom is known as ‘Hibiscus’. This cosy room has a cool terrazzo floor and is furnished with a comfortable sofa and two arm chairs, together with a satellite TV and VCD/CD player. The room enjoys a series of glass doors, which can be completely opened up, and there is also a small en-suite shower room with washbasin and toilet. A wooden staircase leads up to a mezzanine area, abundant with natural light from the large windows, which extend upwards from the glass doors below. The timber-floored mezzanine is furnished with a double bed.

There is a lockable, connecting door leading from Villa Bunga Wangi to the villa next door. This can be opened when there is a large group sharing the two villas. There is also a spacious and secure communal car park within the walled Pangi River Village complex.

The lovely terraced garden was created by the acclaimed landscape architect, Made Wijaya, who is well known for his romantic garden designs. White Palimanan steps lead past pink hibiscus, hand carved stone statues, and a lotus pond filled with Koi fish.

At the lowest level of the garden there is a kidney-shaped swimming pool, fashioned from green Javanese stone. It is characterised by an infinity edge and is bordered by flowering heliconia, coconut palms and the Pangi River. The pool area is furnished with sunloungers and also features a thatched relaxation balé pavilion.

Located within the Pangi River Village complex adjacent to village of Pererenan on Bali’s west coast in a secluded location overlooking the rice terraces beyond the Pangi River. The restaurant and night life districts of Legian and Seminyak are only 15 minutes to the south and the trip from the Ngurah Rai International Airport to the villa is approximately 30 minutes.

Le Meridien Hotel and the famous Tanah Lot Temple are a scenic 15 minute drive to the north, as is the world renowned Nirwana Bali Golf Course, designed by Greg Norman. The local beach, Pantai Pererenan, is a short 5 minute drive from the villa and is particularly popular with international surfers.

The ground floor is composite of an expansive living room with a complete TV set with two coffee tables surrounded by comfortable sofas, and a fully equipped kitchen. On the second teak-wood floor, the superb master bedroom has its king size bed viewing the facing rice paddies through the windowed partition separating the balcony with the room. The master ensuite bathroom features a bathtub and two separated showers for maximum convenience. A second queen sized bedroom with ensuite bathroom is next to the study room giving on the Jacuzzi in the rear patio. An additional under-roof bedroom with fan is ideal for visitors. On the lower stage, the water from the above swimming pool falls into the second pool. Beside the swimming pool area, a 12 seats dining table is served by the nearby fully equipped kitchen. Two bedrooms in a separate housing are surrounded by the verdant garden and fish pond.

Our villa is called Astika Toyaning or beautiful water – well nearly. Astika means beauty, simple and minimalist and Toyaning – clean fresh water used in rice fields. Astika Toyaning is part of the Sungai Pangi Estate – a small villa complex of 8 luxury villas in Canggu set on a plot of over 120 are (12,000 sqmtrs) overlooking the Sungai Pangi river.

Astika Toyaning was completed in mid 2008 and its the total space (excluding car parking, common areas, etc,.) is nearly 1,600 sq mtr with 4 bedrooms (three double beds one twin bed); a 20 meter lap pool; 10 meter square pool; separate kitchen pavilion that seats 12 for dinner; a lounge and multimedia room.

There are loungers for 8 people around the pools as well as a Bale that sits at the end of the lap pool. The large outside living area overlooks both pools. We have three full time staff (two housekeepers and a full time cook) plus gardener, pool and security.

We finished construction nearly a year ago but have yet to formally put it on the rental market. We have stayed in it quite a lot as well as family and friends to date. It is ‘modern Bali’ in style built to western standards. We used a Australian architect and construction company

The adjoining cream terrazzo bathroom features ‘his & hers’ washbasins, coffee-coloured mosaic tiles, a shower positioned within a spacious glass cubicle, and a toilet. A terrazzo staircase leads up to the air-conditioned Guest Bedroom, featuring a parquet floor and furnished with a queen size divan bed complete with a mosquito net. A wardrobe offers ample storage space, and a TV and DVD player is provided for the entertainment of the guests. Each is furnished with a king size, canopied, four-poster bed created from ornately carved antique wood, together with bedside cabinets, lamps, lazy chairs, table, and dressing area with fitted cupboards, safety deposit box, and full length mirror. The main 2-storey building houses three of the bedrooms and is characterised by a colonnaded wrap-around Terrace and a corresponding wide wrap-around balcony on the upper floor. The terrace is furnished with a large circular table and six chairs for alfresco dining under a funky metal chandelier. There is also a bar with a curved façade, and a cushioned rattan sofa and chairs together with a glass-topped rattan table

Indoors is a large Living, Dining & Office Area, with a cool terrazzo floor scattered with Oriental rugs. Here, guests can enjoy a more formal dining experience around a solid chunky dining table for ten. The office area is furnished with a daybed, shelf units and a desk, and is equipped with a computer, Internet access, a fax machine, and a central telephone system. A guest powder room is accessed from this area. The adjacent Service Kitchen is one of two kitchens at the villa. This one is set up so that the staff can serve food quickly and efficiently at dinner parties and functions, it is fully equipped and well-stocked with quality glassware, crockery and cutlery; a large refrigerator is hidden within a custom-designed cupboard

The open-plan TV Room boasts a satellite TV and DVD player, two substantially-sized yielding sofas, a large square coffee table, a lazy chair and a pair of carved side tables positioned upon a warm parquet floor under a soaring pitched roof. This cosy, relaxing area is tastefully enhanced with local artifacts and mirrors

The Main Kitchen is a chef’s dream in black, white and chrome. Immaculate and professionally equipped, it features black marble surfaces and white cabinets, with adjacent store rooms. There is a small garden and terrace at the back of the property beside the kitchen, which is home to a gorgeous statue of the Hindu god, ‘Ganesha’. The villa is also equipped with a generator

The villa is positioned around two sides of the large 17 x 6.5 metre lap pool, which is tiled with green Java stone and complemented by a serene Buddha statue and an outdoor rainshower. Privacy and security is maintained by an encompassing garden wall. At one end of the pool is a relaxation pavilion, known as a ‘bale bengong’. Furnished with cushions, it is great for chilling out with a book or taking an afternoon nap. A small, 2-storey, rectangular, wooden gazebo, charmingly fashioned in the form of a traditional rice barn – known as a ‘lumbung’ or ‘jineng’ – with a thatched, horseshoe-shaped roof, rests in another part of the garden. It features a lower platform and a staircase leading up to a private, upper room accessed by a Lombok door. This is a fun playhouse for children
